Gentle Root Studio was born with intention, to build a safe space for families to grow and connect together. The name itself reflects that spirit: gentle, because connection should never be forced; root, because every relationship needs a stable, grounded place to begin; studio, because wherever we may be, we all need a community.

At its heart, this work rests on a simple belief: that a nurturing foundation supports us to grow into our fullest selves, and at the centre of that foundation is connection.

Our role is to gently support parents and their babies as they discover each other, connect and grow together, using a baby's first language: touch and movement.

After developing a career as a children's doctor in the UK medical system over many years, I chose to found Gentle Root Studio as a natural shift towards the community, allowing for building longer term connections with families.

Medicine taught me a great deal about how babies grow and develop, but I found myself drawn to something quieter: the everyday moments of connection between a parent and their baby, and how much those moments matter.

Gentle Root Studio is how that shift has taken shape: a space to work alongside families in a different way, with more time, more presence, and room to simply be together.

This journey led me down a path of movement and harmony, beginning with my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India, an experience that shaped how I think about breath, rhythm and presence in the body and surrounding environment.

From there, I trained to become a certified Infant Massage Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM), learning to translate that same sense of rhythm and attunement into the earliest relationship between a parent and their baby.

This remains an ongoing journey of development and discovery, where I continue to learn alongside every family I work with. And it is one I invite you to join me on.

"Remember that every child and every parent has a completely unique and special relationship."
